Walk 7 - Nellies Glen

This was another stunning walk which took in the first section of the Six Foot Bridle Track from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves, then back up an old miner's track to Narrow Neck.

Some of the trees were in camoflague

The weather was suitably brisk, with low hanging cloud for added atmosphere.
.

Morning tea is a welcome break and a chance to catch up on the week's news and chat to the locals:-

Then there was the climb out

Walk 6 - Ruined Castle

The other side of the 3 Sisters - and what a view - and no camera!!

Also a killer for going down and up, but we're getting used to it by now.

For me this was one of the best walks.

Walk 5 - Leura Forest and Federal Pass

This was the killer walk - and again no camera.

Whatever goes down must come up - to the carpark.

Walk 4 - Empire Pass circuit - Lawson

Another missing camera, and another great walk.

Walk 3 - Florabella and Pippas Pass Warrimoo

Again I left my camera at home so can't share any photos from this.

It was a long and winding path down to the valley floor - quite unexpected in such a built up area.

Walk 2 - Blue Gum Swamp

Unfortunately I left my camera at home so I have no photos to share.

It was a beautiful walk.

In the beginning ~ for me at least

I joined this happy band in Term 2 of 2008.

Our first walk on 9th May was a bit of an amble to loosen us up for the more arduous walks in the weeks that followed. This first walk took us to the site of the Wirraway plane crash which occurred on 1st August 1940 during heavy fog. We discovered that, for whatever reason, not much remains of that wreck.
